Kellnerzeit & neue Arbeit- Waitressing time & new Job

Ende November ist sie zu Ende gegangen- meine Zeit als Kellnerin im Stellwerk. Ich habe dort fast anderthalb Jahre regelmäßig gearbeitet. Die letzten Monate war ich überwiegend 1- 2 Mal die Woche zur Frühschicht dort. Aber seid Oktober bin ich offiziell bei der Künstlersozialkasse als Künstlerin gemeldet und darüber als Selbstständige versichert, dass ich nicht mehr auf diese Arbeit angewiesen bin. Wenn Du auf den link klickst findest Du einen Song von meiner momentanen Lieblingsband BOY, der dem Thema einen Song widmet, mit dem ich mich gut identifizieren konnte.

Ich verdiene also mittlerweile mein Geld nur mit der Musik- durch Konzerte, Workshops und Gesangsunterricht. Eine weitere Einnahmequelle ist vor Kurzem dazu gekommen. Meine Gemeinde in Berlin (www.icf-berlin.de- haben eine neue tolle homepage) hat mich für den Musikbereich angestellt. So arbeite ich ab Januar 2012 wöchentlich immerhin 5 Stunden dort und darf dort zusätzlich die Räume zum unterrichten nutzen.
Ich bin echt froh darüber, da ich mir schon immer gewünscht habe in dieser Kirche angestellt zu sein- das es schon jetzt möglich ist, hätte ich mir nicht erträumen lassen. Das ich dort unterrichten kann, ist sicher besonders erfreulich für meine Nachbarn, da ich im Moment noch bei mir zu Hause unterrichte und die Schülerzahl ansteigt....

In the end of November it came to an end- my time as a waitress in the restaurant called Stellwerk. I worked there for almost one and a half years. The last months I worked there most of the time 1 to 2 days a week for morning shifts. But since October I am officially listed as an artist and I get my social security as a freelance. This way I dont depend on the work there. If you click on the link you will find a song of my momentary favorite band, called BOY who devoted a song the subject of waitressing- I could relate to it really well.

So, meanwhile I earn my money only by doing music- through concerts, workshops and voice lessons. Another source of income came shortly around. My church in Berlin (www.icf-berlin.de- they just got a new great homepage) hired me for the music section. This way i will work 5 hours a week at the church, starting in January 2012. In addition I am allowed to use the premises for my singing lessons. I am so grateful for that- it was always a dream for me to work at this church- that it would come true so fast I would have never dreamed of. That I can teach at this place is probably most exciting for my neighbours, since I am still teaching at my home and the amount of students is getting bigger....

Neue Mitbewohnerinnen- new room mates

Im Juli 2011 ist Kathi in die WG eingezogen und Wiebke, ihre Vorgängerin, ist ausgezogen. Die weite Entfernung
zu ihrem Freund und zur Innenstadt hat sie u.a. dazu bewogen.
Hier sieht man Kathi ganz links im Bild und auf den Bildern darunter. Direkt daneben ist Dana, meine zweite Mitbewohnerin, die im Oktober eingzogen ist. Kathie geht im Januar zur Bundeswehr und Dana studiert Sozial- und Kulturantopologie und Spanisch. Das Miteinander ist echt harmonisch und ich freu mich jedes mal wenn ich nach Hause komme und die Beiden da sind.

You can see Kathi on the very left on this picture and on the pics below. Right next to her is Dana sitting, my second room mate, who moved in, in October. Kathi is going to the military in January and Dana is studying Social- and Cultureantropology and Spanish. I really like both of them and am glad when they are there when I am coming home.

Sardinien Part 2

Hier sieht man unsere Ferienanlage. Am letzten Abend haben wir eine Party gefeiert bei der wir ein paar Songs gesungen haben- das war ein Spaß. Ansonsten gab es an den Abenden ein Standarttanzangebot, was ich eigentlich täglich wahrgenommen habe- anschließend saßen wir noch gemütlich an der Bar.

Here you can see the holiday resort. On the last evening we celebrated a party, where we sung some songs- this was fun. Other then that there was the chance to participate on a ballroom dance course, which I did pretty much every evening. After that we usually sat at the bar.

Sardinien Part 1

Anfang Oktober hat mir ein befreundetes Paar- Dave und Eva- ermöglicht für zwei Wochen nach Sardinien- einer Insel im Mittelmeer, die zu Italien gehört- zu fliegen.
Dort habe ich mit den Beiden in einer Band Klavier gespielt und gesungen und wir haben jeweils am Morgen den Musikteil gestaltet (auch Worship genannt).
Dafür hatte ich die Möglichkeit, das Feriendorf mit Vollpension zu nutzen.

Das Ganze wurde von einem schweizerischem, christlichen Reiseverantstalter initiiert- "Surprise Reisen". Es waren zeitweise ca. 400 Leute da- wobei die meißten davon Schweizer waren. Auf diesem Weg konnte ich die Schweizer Kultur besser kennenlernen.

Es war noch ziemlich warm. Der Tag startete früh und der Urlaub war mit Verpflichtungen verbunden. Vieles wog das wieder auf- neben uns lag direkt das Meer, tägliches Beachvolleyballspiel und erste Surfversuche.

Ein besonderer Moment war als sich eine Freundin von mir beim Aufgang der Sonne taufen ließ, wie man auf dem untersten Foto sehen kann.

In the beginning of October I got the chance to fly for two weeks to Sardinia- an Island in the Mediterranean Sea. Friends of mine - Dave and Eva- made it possible that I got to play piano and sing with them in a band. We did the music (better called worship) in the morning. Therefore I got to use the holiday village with fullboard. You can see some of the colleagues on the upper picture.

The whole trip was organised by the Christian, Swiss tour operator called "Surprise" At some time there where over 400 people there- most of them where Swiss. Through this I got to know the Swiss culture more.

It was still really warm. The day started early and the holiday where combined with some commitments. But all in all it was great- the Sea was rigth there, I did my first surf attempts and got to play a lot of beach volleyball.

A special moment was, when my friend got baptised while the sun rose in the morning. You can see the scenary on the lowest picture.

Familientreffen/ family gathering part 2

Der September war der Monat der Familientreffen. Die Großfamilie meiner Mutter traf sich wie jedes Jahr- diesmal wieder in Woltersdorf, welches nur eine Stunde von Berlin entfernt liegt. Hier wiederum ein paar Fotos von dem Treffen in Reischenhart. Ist Deutschland nicht ein schönes Land?

The month September was for me the month of family gatherings. The extended family of my mother gathered as every year- this time again in Woltersdorf- a village close to Berlin. Here are some pictures of the gathering in Reischenhart though. Isnt Germany beautiful?

Familientreffen/ Family gathering part 1

Meine süße Cousine Nina beim Familientreffen Wien (väterlicherseits) in Reischenhart. Wenn ich mich nicht täusche, waren wir ca. 40 Familienmitglieder, die sich für ein Wochenende getroffen habe. Leider war der Samstag sehr verregnet- doch die tradtionelle Wandertour blieb nicht aus. Am Abend wurde gegrillt und wir konnten den großen Garten bei meiner Großtante Elisabeth immerhin in einem Zelt nutzen. Dank I-pad konnte ich einen Familienstammbaum erstellen. Bei so vielen Gesichtern fiel mir die Zuordnung anfangs doch schon sehr schwer- es ist schon lange her

My cute cousin Nina at the family gathering Wien (from my fathers side) in Reischenhart. If I am right- we where about 40 family members who where meeting for a whole weekend. Unfortunately the Saturday was a rainy day- but the traditional hiking tour wasnt missing out. In the evening it was barbeque time and we where able to use the big garden of my great-aunt Elisabeth at least in a tent. Thanks to I-pad- I was able to create a family tree. Expecially in the beginning it was hard for me to assign every face to our family connection- its been a while since the last big gathering.

Julia in Kassel

Meine sehr gute Freundin Julia ist Musicalsängerin und hat einen Auftrag in Kassel bekommen bei dem sie bei dem Stück- "Lost- Hänsel & Gretel" mitwirkte und deshalb ein paar Monate nach Kassel gezogen ist. Ich hab mich sehr gefreut, dass ich eine Tour mit einem Besuch verbinden konnte.
My very good friend Julia is Musicalsinger and got a job at a musical production "Lost- Haensel & Gretel". Thats why she moved to Kassel for a few months. I was happy that I had the chance to combine one of our tours with a visit.

Konzerte in Deutschland- concerts in Germany

Nachdem ich mein weiterführendes Gesangstudium abgeschlossen habe, bin ich nun noch öfter am Wochenende unterwegs mit meinem Vater in deutschen Gemeinden. Wir geben Konzerte und gestalten musikalische Gottesdienste. Hier ein paar Bilder von einem Konzert in Mainz. Mittlerweile haben wir bestimmt schon 30 Konzerte mit dem Generationenprogramm gegeben. Pro Wochenende sind das dann öfter 3-4 verschiedene Gemeinden, in denen wir auftreten. Nach so einem Wochenende mit langer An-und Abreise ist man echt ko, doch bei jedem Konzert stellt sich mehr und mehr Routine ein.

After I finished my continuative singing study I am now even more often on the way with my father in German churches. We give concerts and do musical services. Here are some pictures of a church in Mainz. Meanwhile we probably gave around 30 concerts with the new "Generations- programe). Per weekend we are many times in 3-4 different churches, in which we are singing and playing. After such a weekend with long journeys we are really ko, but after every concert there comes more routine.

Nathis Hochzeit; Nathis Wedding- PArt 2

Es waren bestimmt 30 Grad als wir vor der Kirche standen und uns als gesammelte Hochzeitsgesellschaft zu einem Herz formten um von einem Turm aus fotografiert zu werden. Vor der Kirche fanden verschiedene Spiele statt und es gab lecker Schweizer Käse und andere kleine Snacks.
Am nächsten Tag hatten meine französischen Freunde und ich nochmal die Gelegenheit ein Picknick im Park zu genießen.


It was at least 30 degree Celsius when we (the whole wedding congregation) where standing in front of the church, forming a heart shape. A picture was taken from a tower . After the wedding there where some games and great swiss cheese and other snacks in front of the church.
The day after the wedding me and my French friends had the chance to enjoy Vienna while picknicking in the park.

Hochzeit in Wien- Wedding in Vienna

Meine sehr gute Freundin Nathanja hat am 9. Juli 2011 ihrem Mann Matthäus das Ja-Wort gegeben. Nathanja und ich haben in Amerika zusammen gewohnt und gearbeitet und als fast Einzige, die deutsch gesprochen haben, eine sehr intensive, besondere Verbindung aufgebaut. Für mich war es also ganz klar, dass ich für diesen besonderen Moment nach Wien fliege, um diesen Tag mit ihr zu feiern. Es war eine echt schöne Hochzeit! Ein Highlight war, dass ich meine Freunde, die auch CFNI (Christ for the nations Institute) Bekanntschaften waren, wiederum in Frankreich wohnen, auf diesem Weg wieder sehen konnte. (siehe Foto) Und wenn man schon mal in Wien ist durfte natürlich das Sightseeing am Tag davor nicht ausbleiben.


My very good friend Nathanja got married on the 9th of July with her husband Matthäus. Nathanja and I shared a room and worked together in the US. We where almost the only German speakers on campus and build throughout the time a very close connection. Thats why it was very clear for me to fly to Vienna to celebrate this special day with her. It was a great wedding! Another highlight for me was to see other CFNI (Christ for the Nations Institute) Friends, who are living in France at the moment (shown on the picture). And since I was in Vienna I couldnt miss sightseeing the day before as you can see on pictures below.
