My new home

Since 1 1/2 Weeks I am now in the, as it is called, the prettiest city of the world, Hamburg.
It is great. The weather is nice: blue sky, sun and not too cold, the people are friendly and open, the city is a dream, full of nice buildings and the Alster, a river through Hamburg.

Now to the school. After 2 weeks of classes I have now another two weeks of break, not bad. In the school they offer following classes to give you an impression: Music history, rhythm and groove, songwriting, Jazz, Rock, Pop Repertoire where we learn a lot of modern songs. The teachers are in my view qualified even though you can tell that they are artists, living in their own world...
My 37 classmates are very accessable and it so cool to enter into the music world with so many passionate musicians around you. We are 15 singers, most of the instrumentalist are drummer, but we also have a lot of guitarists and a painist.
What is very cool is that 2 of my singing classmates are Christians. One of them is the leader of a big Gospel choir where I am also a part of since yesterday.

My flat is great, given by God...My flatmate is as well a Christian and very nice. She is a medicine student and a paramedic, driving around with the ambulance.

Concerning my church: I am now in the ICF (International Christian Fellowship)- it is the same church I visited in Berlin. We are about 50 people and I am glad to start from next week on in their worship team. Now they are still worshipping just with playbacks, but I want to help to build up a team, see whats gonna happen.

Mein neues Zuhause

Seit 2 1/2 Wochen bin ich nun hier in der "schönsten Stadt der Welt", wie einem die Radiohörer einreden, Hamburg.
Es ist toll. Das Wetter ist wunderschön, die Leute nett und aufgeschlossen, die Stadtkulisse ein Traum; Prunk und Reichtum wo das Auge hinsieht, zumindest in den meißten Teilen.

Nun zu Schule. Nach 2 wöchigem Unterricht habe ich nun schon wieder 2 wöchige Ferien vor mir. In der Schule werden u. a. folgende Fächer besprochen um Euch mal nen Einblick zu geben: Musikgeschichte, Rhythm and Groove, Songwriting, Jazz- und Rock Poprepertoire, in dem wir ganz viel Stücke lernen, Harmonielehre und Gehörbildung.
Die Lehrer sind meiner Ansicht nach sehr qualifiziert in ihrem Fach, obwohl man teilweise merkt, dass sie Künstler, sprich in ihrer eigenen Gedankenwelt sind.
Meine 37 Mitschüler (ja es ist eine Schule keine Uni) sind sehr umgänglich und der Zickenalarm zwischen den Mädels ist bisweit ausgeblieben. Wir sind 15 Sänger im Hauptfach, eine Menge Schlagzeuger, 1 Pianist und noch einige Guitaristen. Was sehr cool ist, dass 2 Sängerinnen auch Christen sind. Die eine davon leitet sogar einen 50 köpfigen Gospelchor, bei dem ich gestern mal mitgesungen habe, voll toll.

Meine Wohnung ist optimal, Gott gegeben...Meine Mitbewohnerin ist ebenfalls Christin und total die Liebe, die auch interessiert ist, was so am Tag passiert und nicht passiv an einem vorbeiläuft. Sie ist Medizinstudentin im 3 Semester und Rettungsassistentin, sprich mit Rettungswagen durch die Gegend fahren.

Bezüglich der Gemeinde, bin ich wieder in der ICF gelandet: tolle Leiter mit nem guten Herz, aber doch schon sehr anders als die Berliner ICF, vermisse Euch!
Naja, Leben geht weiter und ich bin froh, dass ich ab nächster Woche offiziell im Lobpreisteam mitsingen darf. Wir sind ca. 50 Leute jeden Sonntag.
