Eden Project

Von der Uni organisiert hatte ich die Gelegenheit zum ca. 1 1/2 stündig entferntem Eden Project zu fahren.
Dort erwartete uns (2 volle Busse) ein riesiger Komplex, der unter anderem das weltgrößte Gewächshaus beinhaltet.
In diesem Gebiet findet man mehrere Kuppeln, die jeweils ihr eigenes natürliches Biom enthalten- ein Regenwald und ein mediterranes Biom. Dort wachsen und gedeihen verschiedenste Pflanzen und man kommt sich tatsächlich vor, als wäre man im Regenwald- eine Hitzewelle überkam uns als wir aus dem draußen schneiende Umfeld in die feuchte Atmosphäre des Bioms eintraten.
Unter einer weiteren Kuppel wurde ich an ein Museum erinnert, dass den Zweck erfüllen soll über die Ressourcen unseres Planeten nachzudenken- mit Erfolg, zumindest bei mir :)

Organised by the university I had the opportunity to go to the about 1 1/2 distant Eden Project.
There we (2 loaded buses) encountered a huge compley, which includes the worlds biggest greenhouse.
In this region there are a number of domes, which each have their natural biome- a rainforest and a mediterranean biome. In these are various plants planted and grow. You could actually think that you are in a rain forest- a heat wave came towards us as we came from a snowing surrounding in the humid atmosphere of the biome.
Under another dome was something that reminded me rather on a museum, that had the purpose to encourage to think about the ressources of our planet- purpose fulfilled- at least in my case :)

Dart Moor Wanderung- Dart Moor hike

Von meiner organisiert ging es an einem sonnigen Samstag in das wunderschöne Moorgebiet zum wandern. Schafe und Pferde laufen dort frei herum. Aufgrund der riesigen Fläche war ich froh über einen Leiter, der die Gegend sehr genau kennt. Außerdem war es cool meine deutschen Freunde Alisa und Ben dabei zu haben!

Organised by my church I went on a sunny Saturday to the geourgeous Moor area to hike. Sheeps and horses walk here freely. Because it is a huge region I was glad to have a leader, who knows the area really well, with us. Also it was great to have my German friends Alisa and Ben with me.

Meine Zeit in Deutschland- My time in Germany

Weihnachten verbrachte ich mit meiner Familie- bes. war auch Julia, als Verlobte von meinem Bruder Alex mit dabei zu haben.
Sylvester wurde mit der ICF Gemeinde in einer WG gefeiert- war cool alle mal wieder zu sehen und auf den neusten Stand gebracht zu werden.
Am ersten Wochenende im Jahr war ich dann in Nordhelle einem christlichem Musikertreffen, dass jedes Jahr stattfindet. Mit ca. 120 anderen Musikern beschäftigten wir uns mit dem Thema Identiät- eine sehr inspirierende und ermutigende Athmosphäre.

Christmas I spent with my family- it was special to have Julia, as the fiancee of my brother Alex, celebrating with us.
New Years I partied with the ICF church in a flat share- it was great to see everybody again and to get updated.
On the first weekend of the year I went to Nordhelle, a Christian musicians meeting, which takes place every year.
Together with 120 other musicians we dealt with the topic of identity- a very inspiring and encouraging atmosphere.

 

 

 

 

Sightseeing in London

Natürlich wollte ich noch ein paar Sehenswürdigkeiten in London sehen. Also machte ich mich nach dem Gottesdienst mit Tobi auf dem Weg- zuerst zum beliebten Pausenplatz- der Trafalgar Square, auch das Herzstück Londons genannt.
Außerdem natürlich zur Westminster Abbey, eine Kirche, in der traditionell die Könige von England gekrönt werden.
Direkt dahinter befindet sich der berühmte Big Ben, der Uhrturm dessen Glockenschlag als die Stimme Brittaniens bezeichnet wird- "The voice of Britain". Ein Stück weiter stößt man auf das, mit 135m hohe, höchste Riesenrad Europas- das "London Eye". An der Westminster Brücke, die die Themse überquert, gönnten wir uns einen Crepe und genossen die Aussicht.

Of course I wanted to see some sights of London. Thats why I went with Tobi after the service first to the popular place to take a break- the Trafalgar Square, also called the heart of London.
Also we went by the Westminster Abbey, a church, in which the traditionally the kings of England get crowned.
Right behind is the famous Big Ben, the Clock tower. Its chymes are known as the voice of Britain.
A little bit further you find the 135m high big wheel- the biggest of Europe- The London Eye. Standing on the Westminster Bridge, which is crossing the river the themse, we ate a Crepe and enjoyed the beautiful view.

 

 

 

 

Hillsong London

Was mich besonders gefreut hat, ist das ich an einem Gottesdienst bei Hillsong London teilnehmen konnte. Sie bieten 4 Gottesdienste an einem Sonntag an- ich entschied mich für den "ausschlaffähigen" um 12 Uhr. Er findet jeden Sonntag in dem Dominion Theatre statt, ein Auditorium mitten im Zentrum Londons, dass ca. 3.000 Plätze hat. Es war echt ein Erlebnis-besonders da es kurz vor Weihnachten war. Eine Kirche in der Kreativität einen großen Raum einnimmt- genial!

I was really excited about participating at a service at Hillsong London church. They offer four services on one Sunday- I decided to go to the one, where I could sleep longer, at 12. It was a great great experience, espescially because it was right before Christmas. A church, in which creativity takes a lot of room- amazing.

 

 

 

 

London- Shopping

Auf meinem Weg nach Berlin machte ich einen Zwischenstop in London um meine guten Freunde Helena und Tobi für ein Wochenende zu besuchen. Am Freitag und Samstag ging es zum shoppen, was man in London besonders gut im Camden Market machen kann- ein riesiger Markt voll mit alternativen Klamotten, im Zentrum dessen ein unterirdischer Antiquitäten Second Hand Bereich.

On my way to Berlin I made a stop in London to visit my good friends Helena and Tobi for a weekend. On Friday and Saturday we went shopping. A espescially good place to shop in London is the Camden Market- a huge market with alternative cloth and other things. In the centre of it is an underground Antique and Second Hand area.
