I am going to England
As it looks like I have a plan of what I am going to do after I completed my studies in Hamburg in September next year.
Since this school I am attending right now is not a university, rather a two year program for training professional musicaians I probably will go to England to do my Bachelor of Arts. This will take me another year.
My school here agreed to have a partnership with a university in Plymouth. The heads of the music department and two former music students (Phil and Tobi) came to Hamburg in September to make this agreement. I got to know them and a little while later the two students came back with their whole band and they stayed at my place, offering me to come to England anytime.
Since we just have autumn break for two weeks, I thought it would be a great time to accept their offer and to check out England and the university.
My room mate Lydia came with me and we stayed for about five days in England. Helena and Tobi where taking very good care of us and where showing us around the beautiful area. Phil, who I mentioned before was so kind to take us by car to Plymouth, which was another 1 and half hour drive.
There we went for two days and experienced a class where they where doing Indian rhythms and also participating in a gamalian orchestra plaing the gong. It was fun.
It was much more practical then I thought it would be.
This experience made me really think about going for sure, meeting my possible future class mates, experiencing the culture. It is very lean back and relaxed, different from the German well structure and thought through. But maybe it was just the place we stayed at- they had such an ease in life- very inspiring.
